Arthritis caused my mother to need a cane. She didn’t like having to use the
"ugly" commercial canes available, so she asked me to make her a beautiful wood cane that she would be proud to use.
These canes are the result. Using steam bending and kerf bending techniques, I create the curved handle that is comfortable and stronger than handles that are steam-bent only. I then shape the entire cane by hand using traditional hand tools such as spokeshaves and rasps.
The height of a cane is very important. If the height is not correct for the person using it, using a cane will do more damage than good. This is why I custom-make each cane to meet the individual’s needs. We hope you and the ones you love never have to use a cane, but if you do, we offer these custom-made
