Each day is a gift. To experience that gift to the fullest, we
must make art a part of our daily living. My work is dedicated to
bringing art into peoples’ lives through functional objects.
Nature has always been a great source of joy, energy, and
inspiration for me. The strength, beauty, and serenity of Nature,
its forces and its inhabitants influence my work. The gentle
curves, smooth transitions, and defined lines found in my work are a
reflection of the Nature that nurtures me—body and spirit.
Handwork, including shaping and carving, is essential to my designs,
completing the connection between artist, wood, and Nature.
It is my hope that others will see these influences, sense that
connection, and enjoy my work visually and tactilely.

Even as a child I was drawn to the natural beauty of wood. Now, through pen turning, I can transform a utilitarian object into functional
"pocket art" that can be used and enjoyed every day.
Because I shape each pen individually on a lathe, I can handcraft an endless variety of shapes and sizes to comfortably fit any hand and combine this with beautiful woods from around the world to satisfy any taste.
My love for wood and the craft is now leading me to design my own pieces in other areas of woodworking from boxes to furniture making. This process of growth and exploration is
challenging but very exciting too.
