The end of the day, a feeling of
calm, time to rest—Sunset. The unmistakable look when the
sun is low and the trees are silhouetted black against the
bright orange, reds, and purples of the sky. Nature’s
magic show that lasts only a few short minutes. My goal—to
bring this image, these feelings into the home.
I created the colors of the sunset on China silk by hand-mixing and painting the dyes on the
silk. The top of the lamp is also tree branches but without the
China silk shade. These branches create distinct tree
shadows on the ceiling.
